I’m 14 years old and I want to be a photographer when I get older. I love it, It’s my passion. Right now I only have a Kodak regular digital camera and it’s not very good at taking good pictures, to me. They always come out blurry. Anyway my birthday is coming up and I’m asking for a SLR digital camera. I have been looking at the Nikon Coolpix 12.1MP Digital Camera – Black (L110) and the Canon 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens – XSI. But the Cannon one may be a little too much money. I don’t know how good these cameras are so i need some opinions from experienced photographers, from people who own one of these, or from anyone that can help!And i would like to keep the cameras within a reason able price range ($300-$500) Please&ThankYou!!

i recently posted a question asking for your opinions on DSLR cameras and got some great results. I have since looked around the shops and found a model i would like to buy, i was served by my sisters friend who will give me an extra year warranty on my camera, as well as the one year manufacturer’s warranty.It’s the canon 1000D SLR Camera. It comes in a twin lens kit with a 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lens.Neither of the lenses have image stabilizer, should be concerned about this?what are the benefits of having IB in the lens or camera, and is it really necessary? (this is my first DSLR camera)The kit is $900, which is more than i was thinking of paying, but i do have enough. On top of this i need a neck strap, case, memory cards, and possibly another battery (as i will be travelling with it)For the DSLR camera owners out there that really know alot about cameras, what do you think?Is it a good deal or should i keep looking? please give specific reasons please be aware that i am 17 and have never owned a DSLR camera before.I am in Australia so i am paying AU$ not US$

I am a begginer, but my dad is not. this will be mainly my camera, but he will use it as well because he is paying for half of it. My dad wants nikon, he says they make the best lenses.
